A tool, which is part of a repository-wide library, is a function built into a container for automated execution on the pipeline. Tools can be uploaded to the system, checked in and integrated into an event on the pipeline.
Tools are deployed and checked into the repository. All tools are versioned and different versions of the same tool can be used in different projects simultaneously.
After check-in of a tool, the approval of the pipeline, in which the tool is first used, is the step when the tool version is moved from “design” to “live” which also locks the form version from further modification.
